2. Design and shaping: It is always easier to work with a reference, so we just need to plan the shape and outline of the product. Obsidian is shaped using the traditional hammering technique, which involves striking and chipping away material to achieve the desired shape.
3. Polishing: After the general shape is complete, the spear is subjected to a meticulous polishing process to enhance the reflectivity of its surface and bring out its natural beauty. This step also ensures that the edges and contours are smooth and precise.
4. Finishing touches: Complex engravings or decorations can be added to the product to reflect the cultural and historical essence of the original artifact. Here we have applied gold leaf to the gun body to give it a sense of consistency. The finish is still quite acceptable.
5. Assembly: Of course, the spear also needs a high-quality shaft. Here we used a simple log, which, after being covered in gold leaf, looks completely natural. After assembling the head and shaft, I then wrapped the rope around it, which I still really like. The product performs well in terms of both functionality and aesthetics.
